Hi, my name is Ashley Ludman from Seaside Yoga and I'm here today to tell you a little bit about Facial Yoga. Well in essence, yoga just means to join together, to connect. Just like we practice yoga postures and we connect to our hamstrings or our hips and make them more flexible or stronger, we can do the same thing with the muscles in our face. So I'll just demonstrate a few different facial exercises that you can do at any point throughout your day. So the first one is to strengthen and release the muscles around the eyes. So you'll just begin by closing the eyes and just noticing the muscles that surround the eye joint. Then you'll contract the muscles like you're scrunching up your eyes and squeezing your eyes as closest as you can squeeze them. Keeping your eyes close and soften and release the tension around the eyes, around the forehead and around the temples. And you just do this a few times, just to contract and release exercise, contracting the eyes, even scrunching up the forehead, scrunching the temples, and then relax. And you can do the same thing with the rest of your face, you'll do the same thing with the eyes and the lips and tense in the jaw. So squeezing your eyes, your lips, your jaw and then relax. And if you do this a few times, you'll start to notice the release of the tension. So in essence, facial yoga is about connecting with the muscles of the face, creating contraction, the contraction creates the strength and then the release of the contraction creates the release of, of tension within the face. So that's Facial Yoga, hope you enjoy it.
