Standing Yoga Poses tar Yoga Pose



Star Pose. Again, one of my favorites. So we take a wide step out. And a lot of our weight is on the inside of our foot. Making sure that the feet are pointed forward, imagine your squeezing a big pillow in between the legs. Engage the abs, lift the rib cage, chin parallel to the earth. And then drawing out the arms, feeling lines of energy, lines of energy moving up the spine and out through the crown of the head, down through both legs into the earth and out through the arms and fingertips. Breath and breath. This is a foundation pose. It's a foundation for many wide step standing pose, poses such as Warrior II, such as Triangle. Star, feeling your space, feeling your strength. It's a wonderful one for getting in touch with your own sense of empowerment and your being able to take up space in this world. Breath also, strengthens the legs and the arms.
