Relaxing in Goddess Pose is a really great way to come into your centered breathing and be able to feel the expansion of the rib cage. You can feel it expanding both in the front and in the back of the ribs as you press your rubs into the bolster. We are just going to relax and have Gina keep her eyes closed and she is going to come into that centered breathing. We are going to have her take a full exhale then she is going to inhale in and draw that energy into the deepest part of her lungs and allow her belly to expand forward as the diaphragm presses down to the abdomen and then she is going to bring that air into the mid section of her lungs allowing her ribs to expand open and she should be able to feel that expansion on to the bolster underneath her. Her upper chest is going to open up and fill with new energy as she brings that air all the way up and right underneath her collar bone, right to the top of her lungs. Then she is going to exhale in the opposite direction from the top of the lungs, then she allows these ribs to knit together just a little bit but keeps the heart nice and open and then she is going to draw her belly into her spine and get rid of all that toxic stale energy. This kind of breathing allows you to use your full capacity of your lungs so that you can ventilate your lungs and get all the toxins out of there. This really helps your immune system.
